Basmah Kaki is an architect and a partner at Studio Bound. She earned her architectural degree at The Architectural Association in London and is a recipient of the RIBA Bronze Medal and the SOM Foundation UK Award. Kaki is based in Jeddah working on a number of key cultural projects in Saudi Arabia. She is leading work for her design studio in UNESCO sites in Al Balad in Jeddah and working on a series of developments along the Red Sea and is working on a series of developments along the Red Sea Highway. During her time at Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and while working for Sir Peter Cook, Kaki worked on a series of high-profile projects in Europe and the Middle East. She is director and tutor of the AA Visiting School: Makkah vs Makkah program. The work of the program focuses on an in-depth urban study of the city of Makkah, it has been exhibited at the Sharjah Architecture Triennial 2019, among other international venues.

 

Hussam Dakkak

Hussam Dakkak is an architect based in London. He is a partner at Studio Bound and has served as the program director of the AA Jeddah Visiting School since 2015. Dakkak holds an MA in Architecture from the Architectural Association in London and is an ARB registered architect. Dakkak completed his professional training at Squire and Partners in London working on a number of notable developments with British Land, Lodha, Emaar in Dubai and Wafra in Kuwait. Dakkak currently serves as a design and development lead for Rassmal. He also serves as a consultant on a number of cultural and architectural projects with PIF and the Royal Commission of Makkah. Dakkak has lectured at the London School of Economics, Harvard University, the AA and continues his research and design work with Studio Bound.

 

Hessa AlBader

Hessa AlBader is an architect and partner at Studio Bound where she collaborates on both design and research projects in London and in the Arabian Gulf. She is a co-director and tutor of the AA Visiting School: Makkah vs Makkah program and has participated in lectures and symposiums in Sharjah and other parts of the GCC. She is a Senior Project Manager at Wafra Real Estate (Kuwait) where her work ranges from curating and managing international design competitions and construction projects. AlBader earned her architectural degree at The Architectural Association in London and served as a guest critic at the AA and Kuwait University.
